New Labels Incoming!

We’re updating all 40 colour bars on our can labels.
Showing the colours of our spray primers is always tricky. We’ve talked in the past about colours looking slightly different online depending on the screen used to look at them, how photography, lighting and more can change how a colour is perceived. For printed assets it doesn’t get any easier, with the type of printer, ink, and material we’re printing onto all having an affect on the colour. Even the lighting around you when using your own eyeballs can change how a colour looks. It’s the whole ‘blue/black vs gold/white dress’ illusion.
As frustrating and impossible to resolve as this sounds, we still persevere. Looking for ways to more accurately represent what’s inside our cans, every time you check out something Colour Forge.
This month, that means updating all 40 colour bars on our can labels. So every time you grab a can off the shelf you have a more accurate representation of the paint inside.
For some colours these are very minor adjustments that only the most exacting of us colour nerds will notice, as you can see with Sanguine Red below. For other cans these are a more striking change, like the new metallic label on Siege Armour here.
We’ve been working with a new label printer to achieve the highest possible accuracy for our new labels. They’ve taken digital scans directly from physical spray cards, added some techno wizardry and very expensive printers to spit out our shiny new labels.
This range-wide update is happening right now. We’ve got the first few colours dressed to impress in our warehouse as you read this. They’ll start to ship out to retailers and for orders made on the website from this week.
The rest of the range will be updated as new stock lands in our warehouse and as retailers sell through their existing stock. So we expect to see these updated labels arriving with you over the next few months.
Of course the inside of the can still packs a ton of the same high-quality spray primer you know and love, with no adjustments to the paint colours within our range, just the labels.
