Price Change – 1st June 2026

Today we have to announce a price increase on The Colour Forge spray primers, which will go into effect from June 1st 2026.
This change is limited to our spray primers, where we are having to add £1, making the updated MSRP £13.50.
We have been incredibly reluctant to make this change, however wider world events drastically pushed up the price of raw materials. Having held out for as long as we could, hoping a swift resolution would mean we could absorb this pain, the pace of the increases outstripped our mitigation efforts. The current global situation has had knock on effects throughout many aspects of all our lives, and the tabletop gaming industry is not isolated from that.
We’ve suffered from more than a 30% increase in costs of raw materials in recent weeks, and seen an unprecedented frequency of cost increases. We are now at a point where we are forced to increase our prices; hopefully temporarily.

Of course we’d rather be spending our time on much more exciting things, and we promise to resume our regularly scheduled programming soon. Please don’t underestimate just how much your support, and the support of the wider community, is appreciated by us on a daily basis.
With the date of the price rise being set for Monday 1st June, this means the weekend of UK Games Expo will be the last weekend to secure our primers at their current price. So stocking up now isn’t the worst idea.

Below we’ve added the answers to some questions you may have, however if you have a specific question we haven’t covered, please feel free to email our Customer Service team – aftercare@thecolourforge.com
How will this affect the multi-can offers?
In line with this price increase the updated multi-can offers will be:
3 for £36
6 for £70
12 for £130
These offers will continue to be available through our website and at trade shows.
Will prices decrease if the global market settles down?
Our hope is that raw material prices will drop when the current global situation settles, although there may be a delay as production levels return to normal and stranded shipping gets back on schedule. Of course, we cannot say for sure, but if costs drop we would look to pass that saving along to our customers.
As you will have seen in February, when we dropped prices on 10% of our product range, if we are able to drop prices in the future, we aren’t shy about doing so. One of our main goals as a company, and one of the reasons we exist, is to provide hobbyists with top quality, affordable products. We still meet those objectives. Our XL-sized, 500ml cans are still packed with top quality spray primer, and are still great value against any competitor. That being said, we’re always looking to improve.
Will there be another price rise this year?
As you would expect, our operations team are continually monitoring the supply chain. But, just like pretty much everyone else, we’re spectators to global situations and predicting the future is perilous at the moment. We can’t overstate just how unprecedented these manufacturing cost increases have been. However it is possible that the cost increases are a reaction to the lack of a swift resolution to the current situation, and current costs will plateau.
