When you put out content every week that shows off your painted minis in HD close-ups, then you need to paint them well, so when the crew over at Tabletop Tactics talk about painting armies well, it’s worth taking it on board.

When we chatted to Lawrence about Tabletop Tactics’ colour, he presented us with the goals he wanted their spray to achieve. Only after that did he talk about what colour could achieve that.
His goals were to provide a great, everyday staple for hobbyists. Something that would particularly give a great base for off white armour (one of the most difficult things to paint well), something The Spider has wanted to make easier ever since painting his World Eaters.
Lastly, Lawrence wanted it to be a great starting point, both for contrast paints as well as for detailed airbrush work. Something to carry colour and provide the brilliant levels of adhesion that Colour Forge primers always do.
After a bit of brainstorming, they came up with Ashen Grey, a direct colour match for Ulthuan Grey. A gorgeous light grey with a very subtle blue tint.

Here’s The Spider talking about their addition to the Signature Series: Ashen Grey!
Lawrence:
“I’m really excited to unveil our Ashen Grey spray, its colour is in line with the wartorn skull of our logo, and I felt the name perfectly invoked our brand and look. It’s also a must-have for all your contrast basing, or even that perfect off-white base for an armour like I used on my World Eaters army. It’s time to apply the war paint!”
